Sedation Dentistry

Our patients know that Dr. Voges is a compassionate practitioner who always keeps patient comfort in mind. Our team is attentive during every type of treatment, ranging from preventative care to cosmetic improvements. Regardless of what your needs may be, you can have a more relaxing dental experience with sedation dentistry.

Patients may benefit from dental sedation for different reasons.

  • Dental anxiety or fear
  • An overactive gag reflex
  • Difficulty sitting through lengthy dental procedures
  • Difficulty becoming numb with local anesthesia
  • Several needed or desired dental procedures

If any of the above conditions describe you, ask our team about dental sedation. We believe you deserve access to the gentle treatments that make dentistry easier for you. To make your dental experience better, we offer safe and gentle sedation that can remove apprehension and discomfort from your procedure.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide is a breathable sedative that has been administered by doctors for many decades. Nitrous oxide, while mild, is very effective. It affects the patient quickly when inhaled through a comfortable nasal mask, making him or her feel peaceful and happy.

Nitrous oxide wears off immediately after the mask removal, so the patient can even drive home after their treatment.

Oral Conscious Sedation

Oral sedatives are slightly stronger than nitrous oxide, but still a safe and moderate option. Dr. Voges will prescribe you the medication that’s right for you, and instruct you to take it shortly before your dental visit. While the sedative should not put you to sleep, it will promote relaxation.

If you choose oral conscious sedation, you should arrange for someone to drive you home from your procedure.

You deserve to feel comfortable during every dental visit. We want to make sure you’re at ease when you visit our office, so if you have concerns, please give us a call. Some patients find success with sedation dentistry!
